عَنْ اَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِؑ قَالَ لَا يَصْلُحُ النَّاسُ اِلَّا بِاِمَامٍ وَ لَا تَصْلُحُ الْاَرْضُ اِلَّا بِذَلِكَ
Imam Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) says, “The people cannot survive except with a (divinely appointed) Imam and the earth cannot survive except with him.”
This statement emphasizes the necessity of an Imam for the survival of both the people and the earth.
The earth cannot survive without an Imam; dying without knowing him is akin to paganism, and his recognition is crucial at the moment of death.
The earth cannot be without an Imam; there cannot be two Imams, only one silent Imam alongside the speaking Imam before him.
An Imam is essential for following religion; recognizing him signifies belief, while denial indicates disbelief, similar to needing qualified professionals for proper guidance.
The Imam's obedience is obligatory; denying him leads to destruction, while adhering to him ensures salvation, as he is a guide to Allah for humanity.
