*How Does Iblees Deviate People During Muharram?* Muharram is a time of mourning, reflection, and reaffirming our allegiance to Imam Husain (a.s.) and the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). However, a profound narration from Imam Ali (a.s.) reveals that it is also a time when Iblees intensifies his efforts to misguide people and distance them from the truth. In this deeply moving tradition, Sayyida Zaynab (s.a.) narrates that after Imam Ali (a.s.) was struck by Ibn Muljam (la), she asked her father about a narration previously conveyed to her by Umm Ayman. Imam Ali (a.s.) confirmed its authenticity and foretold the tragedy of Karbala, describing how the women of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) would be taken captive and endure immense hardships. Imam Ali (a.s.) then narrated the words of Rasulullah (s.a.w.a.), who informed them that on the day of Ashura, *Iblees will rejoice and spread throughout the earth with his devils and evil forces*, proclaiming that they had achieved their objective of leading humanity astray. However, Iblees acknowledges one crucial exception: *Those who remain firmly attached to the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), their lovers, and their true followers.* Realising that he cannot overcome those who hold steadfast to the Wilayah of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), Iblees instructs his followers to focus on: ⚫️ Creating doubts about the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) ⚫️ Encouraging enmity towards them and their followers ⚫️ Inciting people against their lovers and Shias ⚫️ Strengthening misguidance and disbelief among humanity This narration highlights a powerful reality: one of the greatest tactics of Iblees during Muharram is not merely to distract people from mourning, but to weaken their connection with the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), create confusion regarding their status, and sow division among their followers. The hadith further emphasises the immense importance of love and allegiance to the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), stating that hostility towards them renders righteous deeds fruitless, while sincere love and loyalty towards them become a means of salvation, provided one avoids major sins. After narrating this tradition, Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn, Imam al-Sajjad (a.s.), stressed its extraordinary value, saying that even if a person were to travel tirelessly for an entire year seeking this narration, it would still be little compared to its worth.
