Never Lose Hope, Never Become Arrogant Imam Ali (a.s.) teaches us two important lessons about the changing circumstances of life: never lose hope when life deprives you, and never become arrogant when life gives you success. There will be times when things do not go according to our plans. We may face failure in an examination, difficulties in business, loss of employment, illness, financial problems, or other hardships. During such moments, we should never allow ourselves to fall into despair. What appears to be a setback today may be part of a greater plan, and the One who created us is the One who has the power to change our circumstances. At the same time, when success, wealth, status, power, or a position comes our way, we should never place our confidence in these temporary blessings or allow them to make us proud. Circumstances can change in an instant. The person at the top can find themselves at the bottom, while someone who was overlooked can suddenly rise to the highest position. Therefore, success should be met with humility and gratitude, not arrogance and pride. The balance is simple but profound: when life takes something away, remain hopeful; when life gives you something, remain humble. Both hardship and success are temporary, while Allah's (s.w.t.) power remains constant.
