*Roz-e-Arafah – Kiske Aamaal Barbaad Ho Jaayenge?* Millions gather in the plains of Arafah seeking the mercy of Allah (s.w.t.), hoping for forgiveness, blessings, and the acceptance of their deeds. But did you know there is one action that can deprive a person of Allah’s mercy and cause all their good deeds to be destroyed? In this important discussion, we reflect upon a profound narration from Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) regarding the reality of deeds on the blessed day of Arafah. Sulaiman Ibn Khalid narrates that he heard Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) say: “Indeed, the deeds of the servants are presented before Rasulullah (s.a.w.a.) every Thursday night. When the Day of Arafah arrives, a call comes from Allah Tabarak wa Ta’ala: *‘And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did and make them scattered dust.’* *(Surah al-Furqan 25:23)* When asked whose deeds would be destroyed in this manner, Imam (a.s.) replied: *“These are the deeds of those who harbour hatred towards us and towards our Shias.”* This narration teaches us a powerful lesson — enmity towards the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) and hatred for their true followers can render even great acts of worship worthless, turning them into scattered dust before Allah (s.w.t.).
