Ibn Qulawayh quotes that my father (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to me from Sa’d Ibn Abdillah from Moosa Ibn Umar from Hassaan al-Basri from Muawiyah Ibn Wahab who narrates that Imam Ja’far e Sadiq (a.s.) instructed me,
“Do not forsake the visitation (Ziyaarat) of Imam Husain (a.s.) due to fear. The one who forsakes it will definitely regret it and will then wish that his grave should have been near the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.). Would you not like that Allah should see you among people for whom Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a), Imam Ali (a.s.), Her Eminence Fatima (s.a.) and all the Imams (a.s.) pray? Would you not like to be included among those who would return to Allah in a state that all their past sins have been forgiven and your sins of 70 years are forgiven? Would you not like to be like the person who departs from this world having no sin upon him? Would you not like that tomorrow (on the Day of Judgment), the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) should shake hands with you?
[Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat, chapter 40, pp. 117-118, H. 3]
In another tradition, Ibn Qulayah quotes that Muhammad Ibn Abdillah Ibn Ja’far al-Himyari from his father from Ali Ibn Muhammad Ibn Saalim from Muhammad Ibn Khaalid Abdullah Ibn Hammaad al-Basri from Abdullah Ibn Abd al-Rahmaan al-Asamm who said that Mudlij narrated to me from (the great companion) Muhammad Ibn Muslim (r.a.) narrates in a long tradition that Imam Baqir (a.s.) asked me, “Do you visit the holy grave of Imam Husain (a.s.)?
He replied, “Yes but in a state of fear and caution.”
Imam (a.s.) said, “The more difficult the conditions of this Ziyaarat will be, its reward will be more in accordance to the level of fear. Whoever visits in a state of fear, Allah will convert his fear into safety. On the day when all mankind will be present before the Lord of the worlds, this person will come in a state having obtained forgiveness. Angels will salute him and the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) will come to visit him and pray for him due to which he will return with bounties and excellences from Allah, no evil shall touch him and he will follow the pleasure of his Lord.
[Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat, chapter 45, pp. 126-127, H. 5]
Note:
▪If we pay attention, then both traditions have a very close connection with Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
▪On one hand, shaking hands with him and on the other, he (s.a.w.a.) visiting the one who visited his grandson and praying for him, shows how dear is the Ziyaarat of Aba Abdillah al-Husain (a.s.) is to him (s.a.w.a.).
We pray to Allah that, no matter what the conditions may be, He grants us the opportunity to visit the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) every year and to make this path of the Ziyaarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) easy for us from all aspects and to remove all types of fear and obstructions in the path of this Ziyaarat, may He hasten the reappearance of the Imam of our time, Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). Aameen, O Lord of the worlds!
