The Ahle Tasannun scholar, Ibn Khaldoon writes in his book Muqaddamah, vol. 1, p. 514 that –
“It is famously known among the Muslims of all times that in the last era, a man from the progeny of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) will reappear, who will be the helper of religion, spread justice and equity, all Muslims will obey him, he will have absolute control over the Islamic kingdom and his name will be ‘Mahdi’.
On the same page, Ibn Khaldoon continues that the traditions concerning Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) are authentic and renowned Ahle Tasannun scholars like Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, Bazzaar, Ibn Maajah, Hakim, Tabarani, and Abu Ya’la Musoli have narrated traditions on the authority of companions viz. Imam Ali (a.s.), Ibn Abbas, Abdullah Ibn Umar, Talha, Abdullah Ibn Masood, Abu Hurairah, Anas Ibn Malik, Abu Saeed Khudri, Umme Habiba and Umme Salma.
From this statement of Ibn Khaldoon, it is absolutely clear that all Muslims, irrespective of the sect they belong to, believe in the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the last era. So, the question arises that if all Muslims, irrespective of the sect they belong to, believe in the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) in the last era, his rule, his spreading of justice and equity in the entire world, then why don’t all Muslims accept the Imamate and Mastership of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) today!
We pray to Allah that He hastens the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) and gives us the opportunity to spend our lives in his just kingdom whilst being steadfast on his Imamate and Mastership.
Aameen, O Lord of the worlds!
