Sheikh Muhammad ibn Yaqoob Al Kulayni reports in Usool-e-Kafi

(It has been narrated) from Imam al-Sajjad, Ali bin Al-Husain (peace be upon them both): Allah Mighty and Majestic created the souls and the bodies of the  Prophets (peace be upon them) from the clay of Illiyeen and created the souls of the believers from that very clay, and created the bodies of the believers from clay lower than that; and He created the disbelievers from the clay of Sijjeen – their souls as well as their bodies.

Due to this creation, the tragedies endured by the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) profoundly impact a believer’s soul. Conversely, their happiness is a source of immense joy and spiritual upliftment.

The tradition ends by mentioning: Thus, the hearts of the believers incline to that from which they are created, and the hearts of the disbelievers incline to that from which they are created

Another tradition regarding the creation of the believer,

From Imam al-Sadeq, Ja’far ibn Muhammad (peace be upon them both), from their fathers, from their grandfather (peace be upon them), they said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) said, “Indeed, in Paradise, there is a spring sweeter than honey, softer than butter, colder than snow, and more fragrant than musk. In it is clay from which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created us and created our followers (Shia). Whoever is not from that clay is not from us nor from our followers (Shia). And it is the covenant that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, took upon Himself concerning the authority (Wilayah) of Ameerul Momineen, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon them both).”

Ubayd said, “So I mentioned this tradition to Imam al-Baqir, Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husain (peace be upon them).

The narrations above highlight the unique and privileged position of believers and their close attachment to the Ahlul Bait (peace be upon them).

We are immensely grateful to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for guiding us to the right path and sparing us from going astray.
