عَنْ مُفَضَّلِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ رُمَّانَةَ قَالَ وَ كَانَ خَيِّرًا قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِاَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ ع اِنَّ اَصْحَابَنَا يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِي شَيْءٍ فَاَقُولُ قَوْلِي فِيهَا قَوْلُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ- فَقَالَ بِهَذَا نَزَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ.
The narrator (Mufazzal Ibn Qais) says, “I said to Imam Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him) that our friends (Shiahs) differ on an issue so I say to them that my view in it is the view of Ja’far Ibn Muhammad (peace be upon him).” He (peace be upon him) retorted,
“Jibraeel descended with this only.”
