Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be on him and his progeny) said,
“The best of you is the one who is the best of you to my family.”
Notes:
1) In some references prior to Behaar al-Anwaar, the words ‘after me’ at the end of the tradition. That is, ‘…the best of you to my family after me.’
2) Although the narrator of this narration was notorious in history as an enemy of the Ahle Bait (peace be on them), yet he has narrated such traditions. Why? The reason is that often Allah the Almighty makes the people of falsehood utter the absolute truth, which they regret later.
