Those who doubt the Reward of the Ziyaarat of Imam Husain (a.s.)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hasan Ibn Abdillah narrates from his father from Hasan Ibn Mehboob from Abi al-Mi’za from Dhareeh al-Muhaarebi who narrates that,
“I complained to Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) that when I inform my relatives and my children about the rewards of performing the Ziyaarat of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.), they call me a liar and accuse me by saying, ‘You are forging a lie against Ja’far Ibn Muhammad (a.s.).’” – as if to say that there is no such tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.).

Imam (a.s.) replied, “O Dhareeh! Leave those people (i.e. just ignore them). Let them go wherever they want. By Allah, takes pride in the visitor of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) and the delegation of proximate angels and the carriers of the Divine Empyrean (Arsh) welcomes that visitor. Allah calls out to them, “Did you not see the visitors of the grave of Husain (a.s.) who have come to him due to their love for him and Fatima Bint Muhammad (s.a.)? Know that, I swear by My Honour, Might, and Grandeur! I have made My Generosity obligatory upon them and I shall certainly make them enter My Paradise which I have prepared for My friends, Prophets, and Messengers. O My angels! These are the visitors of Husain (a.s.), the beloved of My Messenger Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is my beloved. So, whoever loves Me should love My Messenger Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and love the one whom My beloved loves. Whoever hates My beloved has borne enmity with Me and whoever bears enmity with Me, then it is My right to punish him with a severe punishment, burn him in My Hell-fire, make Hell his dwelling and final abode and ‘I will chastise him with a chastisement with which I will not chastise, anyone among the nations.’ [Surah Maaedah (5): verse 115]

[Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat, chapter 56, pp. 143-144, H. 5]

We pray to the Almighty Allah to include among the visitors of Imam Husain (a.s.) and not among those who raise a doubt regarding his Ziyaarat and prevent others from performing it. Aameen, O Lord of the worlds!
