Ibn Qulawayh narrates from his father and Muhammad Ibn Hasan from Hasan Ibn Mitteel and Muhammad Ibn Hasan said that Muhammad Ibn Hasan al-Saffaar narrated to me, all of them have narrated from Ahmad Ibn Abi Abdillah al-Barqi from Hasan Ibn Ali Ibn Fadhdhaal from Abu Ayyub Ibrahim Ibn Uthman al-Khazzaaz from Muhammad Ibn Muslim who narrates from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.):
“Command our Shias to visit the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.)”
“For surely, visiting him is a responsibility of every believer who testifies in (the position of) Imamah from Allah, Mighty and Majestic be He, for Imam Husain (a.s.).”
[Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat, chapter 43, p. 121, H. 1]
In another tradition from the same chapter, Ibn Qulawayh narrates from his father, brother and Ali Ibn Husain and Muhammad Ibn Hasan (may Allah have mercy on all of them) from Ahmad Ibn Idrees from Obaidullah Ibn Moosa from al-Washshaa who said that I heard from Imam Reza (a.s.) state:
“Indeed, there is a (binding) covenant for every Imam on the necks his lovers and Shias, and the most perfect and beautiful way to fulfil this covenant is to visit their graves. So, the one who visits them longing to meet them, testifying whatever they were inclined towards, then on the Day of Judgment, their Imams (a.s.) will intercede for them.”
[Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat, chapter 43, p. 122, H. 2]
Notes:
- Every believer, who considers himself to be a follower of the belief in the Imamah of the progeny of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), is duty-bound to perform the Ziyaarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) and all other Imams (a.s.).
- Hence, we must strive excessively for this Ziyaarat.
- It is certain that a person must have the means, the capacity, and divine blessings to visit Karbala. But divine blessings are dependent on our intention.
Visiting Karbala is surely a matter of destiny
Unfortunate is the one who did not make an intention
We pray to Allah to grant us the good fortune to visit Karbala and fulfil our covenant to our Imam through it and may He remove all obstacles in the way of this Ziyaarat. Aameen, O Lord of the worlds!
