It is found in the whispered prayers of Prophet Moosa (a.s.) that he asked:
“O Allah! Why have you granted excellence to the nation of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) over other nations?”
Allah replied: “I have granted them excellence due to ten characteristics.”
Prophet Moosa (a.s.) inquired: “What are those ten traits which they act upon so that I can also instruct Bani Israel to act upon those.”
Allah, the High, revealed: “Prayers, Tax (Zakaat), Fasting, Pilgrimage (Hajj), Fighting in the way of Allah (Jehaad), Friday, Congregation (Jamaa’ah), Quran, Knowledge, and Aashura.”
Prophet Moosa (a.s.) further asked: “O Allah! What is Aashura?”
Allah revealed: “Weeping over the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) (viz. Imam Husain (a.s.)) or having an expression of grief, reciting eulogies and mourning over the afflictions upon the progeny of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). O Moosa! At that time, no servant of Mine shall weep, make a weeping face and offer condolence to the progeny of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), except that Paradise is confirmed for him.”

Note:
▪The Almighty Allah explains through this Hadith al-Qudsi that the nation of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) is superior to other nations because they weep over the tragedy of Imam Husain (a.s.) and organise mourning gatherings for him.
May Allah include us among those who weep and mourn for Imam Husain (a.s.)! Aameen Ya Rabb al-Aalameen!
