Sulaim Ibn Qais al-Hilaali (r.a.) reports, “I heard Ameerul Momineen (peace be upon him) say,

‘Obedience is only for Allah – Mighty and Majestic be He – and for His Messenger (peace be upon him and his holy progeny) and for the possessors of authority. The obedience for those possessing authority is ordered only because they are infallible and purified (by Allah). They don’t order for His disobedience.”
